A touch of France, in Palos Verdes...

Authentic antiques were combined with new decor pieces to create a fresh take on French Country aesthetic, right in Palos Verdes. Tanya Collins helped her client realize her dream of combining her existing collection some more modern spaces.

Every detail of the dream was realized, with faux stone ceilings in the master bathroom, to hand carved doors in the entry, to sculpted gates at the sunroom. Walls were hand painted to match the decor, and books and antique accessories were staged to perfection. Antique wood chairs received fresh new upholstery and window treatments were added throughout the home.

This French-Country style was everything the client was looking for.

A romantic scene was set with the help of shabby chic and antique-inspired elements from Creative Designs. Our unique pieces truly set the stage for a whimsical photo session. From the carved wooden pedestal table with distressed cream colored top, to the gold accent pieces and antique books. It was every bit the picture-perfect scene.

Sometimes happiness is about finding balance.

That might be what is so inviting about this gorgeous French-Country style home: its strikes a balance between chic and rustic in a way that feels both lavish and unassuming.

It's polished enough to feel comfortable, but rustic enough to avoid being over decadent. 

Beautiful white fabrics and decorative elements are balanced by earth elements, a stone fireplace, wood floors and wood ceiling, to create a space that brings together two seemingly different styles in a way that creates perfect harmony.

We call it rustic-chic, they call it home.

One of my favorite parts of being a designer is getting the opportunity to bring new life to an old space. When I got the chance to do that with one of my dearest friends, it was like the icing on the cake! Together we came up with a great design plan from the kitchen layout and material selections to the last little details. This kitchen has cream perimeter cabinets and the island and refrigerator walls are painted in a beautiful soft green color. The floor-to-ceiling refrigerator wall also houses a hidden coffee bar behind its hinged doors! I just love the way it turned out!!
